Had a quick conversation today with Tony the sales manager. Very disappointing. We talked about my wife wanting a new car and that she currently has a 2020 civic through Honda Financial. Since we began buying cars from Honda, we were always told when you get your next vehicle from us and you’re in good standing, we’ll place you in the top credit tier. For over a decade that has been true. Even when we were at the Honda dealer for service, my wife asks the finance manager if that holds true if she gets an Acura. His response was “yes”. So I’m talking to Tony and he won’t agree that if you’re in good standing with Honda finance you’ll be in the top tier. I not asking for a guarantee or a promise, just a yes that’s typically how it goes. He can’t do it. So he asks me what interest rate did you get on your last civic? Now mind you that was three years ago and I said around 3%. Tony comes back with that’s impossible, that’s not a rate. Like I said three years ago and around 3%. So I’m pretty insulted by the entire conversation. I deal with customers and clients on a daily basis and I’m always cordial at very least and never aggressively challenged any of them and I certainly wouldn’t expose my wife to anything of the kind. I did talk to another Acura dealer and they did confirm what I was asking as long as the buyer is in good standing. See, very simple. They also gave us a better price and in the end you always get a better response with honesty and kindness

Was disappointed that I wasn’t better directed to where my car was located after it got serviced. It was assumed that I knew to go through the service office (which had no workers in it and lights were off) to the garage to retrieve my car. Because I had just purchased my car and never gotten it serviced before, it would have been nice for an employee to walk me to my car or pull it out of the garage and bring my key to me. I even asked the salesmen in the front and they were not much help. While the cashier did help me after asking, it could have been handled differently. Other than that, my experience was great!
Staff is courteous and answered my questions during the buying process. Showroom was clean and received car in new condition as expected. Rated 4 out 5 stars for some minor issues, but overall a good dealership that has integrity.
I came back to Joe Rizza where I bought my first MDX in 2010. I called the GM and told him that I’m not provided satisfaction at the Acura Dealer where I leased the car. The GM told me to come and he will try to get me the best rate. I got approved with Honda financial and I also purchased extended warranty for my 2020 RDX. I wanted to know why I was charged additional $500 on top of my payoff? Is that a standard practice at the dealership?When I asked why they are charging me $500 the GM said that is not negotiable and I can cancel the deal. He started to walk me out and said he’s cancelling the deal! Since my credit was already pulled I didn’t want to waste my time and went about completing the financing. The gentleman at the finance was pleasant and helped answer all my concerns. I still have a unsettled feeling about tagging additional $500 to my payoff. I called McGrath and they said they don’t add up any fees to the payoff. I guess car buying will never be a pleasant experience!
